Thermoflex, Modelica and AVPlan
When we design CO2-neutral energy plants for utility companies, we combine interdisciplinary expertise with advanced software tools. Tools such as AVPlan, Thermoflex, and Modelica help us calculate, simulate, and model data, energy systems, and scenarios, ensuring a solid and well-informed investment decision. This approach enables us to guide projects safely from concept to operation.

AVPlan, Thermoflex, and Modelica are key to our advisory services
When we design CO2-neutral energy plants for Danish and international utility companies, we combine our deep interdisciplinary knowledge with specialized programs and systems that calculate, simulate, and model data, energy plants, and scenarios.
This is done to support our clients in making well-informed investment decisions.
Our advanced software tools AVPlan, Thermoflex, and Modelica are therefore essential keys that ensure we can safely take projects from “concept to operation.”
- AVPlan is an optimization tool that secures the client’s investment in energy infrastructure.
The goal is to provide the best solution in terms of energy security, flexibility, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness. We do this by modeling the client’s current district heating system, identifying the most promising energy technologies and investment opportunities, and finally developing an investment roadmap.
- Thermoflex is a tool for analyzing thermodynamic and hydraulic processes.
Its purpose is to help, for example, a district heating company find the right solution when transitioning to more environmentally friendly production technologies such as high-temperature heat pumps. We support this by using Thermoflex to create comprehensive mass and energy balances, which are applicable throughout all phases of a process plant’s lifecycle.
- Modelica is a tool for dynamic analysis and for designing control and regulation systems.
The goal is to analyze the various processes in the new plant setup we’ve designed for a client and then tailor a control system to it. We use dynamic process models to validate this control system, minimizing the risk that potential design errors are transferred into the real-world process when commissioned.
