We design robust CO2-neutral energy systems

For both Danish and international utility companies, we calculate, analyze, and implement the best energy technologies. This future-proofs our clients' businesses while contributing to the collective green transition.

We use our specialist knowledge to strengthen the green energy infrastructure

Experience makes the difference

Since 2013, we have been advising Danish and international utility companies on how to optimize their current plants and how new energy plants and sources can be integrated when investing in greener energy technologies.

Converting to green district heating is not the hard part. The real challenge is to ensure a cost-effective and robust supply at the same time. Because it’s not just about ensuring a constant supply of power and heat. Economic considerations, environmental concerns, and sustainability also need to be included, alongside compliance with energy policies.

This is what we help ensure by:

  • Advising on which energy technologies a utility should invest in – when and where.
  • Using advanced model-based design to optimize future operating scenarios, providing the client with the insights and knowledge to make the right investment decisions.
  • Supporting clients throughout the entire process, from investment planning, technical specifications, and commissioning to subsequent operational optimization.

By giving customers a complete overview of supply security, flexibility, environmental impact, and economics before investing in a new district heating system, we help steer a strong green transition while also improving the customer's business.

In addition to providing long-term strategic advice to utility companies, we are also specialists in the practical startup and operational optimization of existing power and heat-producing plants.

Our tools deliver optimal results

When we design CO2-neutral energy plants for Danish and international utility companies, we combine our deep interdisciplinary knowledge with specialized programs and systems that calculate, simulate, and model data, energy plants, and scenarios.

This is done to support our clients in making well-informed investment decisions.

Our advanced software tools AVPlan, Thermoflex, and Modelica are therefore essential keys that ensure we can safely take projects from “concept to operation.”

  • AVPlan is an optimization tool that secures the client’s investment in energy infrastructure.
The goal is to provide the best solution in terms of energy security, flexibility, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness. We do this by modeling the client’s current district heating system, identifying the most promising energy technologies and investment opportunities, and finally developing an investment roadmap.
  • Thermoflex is a tool for analyzing thermodynamic and hydraulic processes.
Its purpose is to help, for example, a district heating company find the right solution when transitioning to more environmentally friendly production technologies such as high-temperature heat pumps. We support this by using Thermoflex to create comprehensive mass and energy balances, which are applicable throughout all phases of a process plant’s lifecycle.
  • Modelica is a tool for dynamic analysis and for designing control and regulation systems.
The goal is to analyze the various processes in the new plant setup we’ve designed for a client and then tailor a control system to it. We use dynamic process models to validate this control system, minimizing the risk that potential design errors are transferred into the real-world process when commissioned.
